NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT REPORT

Private-sector employment increased by 230,000 from September to October, on a seasonally adjusted basis.

Highlights

  • Small businesses (1-49 employees) +102,000
  • Medium businesses (50-499 employees) +122,000
  • Large businesses (500 or more employees) +5,000

Note: All size data included in the ADP National Employment Report is based on size of business, defined as an entity with a unique Employer Identification Number, which may include multiple establishments. Sum of components may not equal total due to rounding.

“Employment continues to trend upward as we begin the last quarter of 2014, driven mostly by small to mid-sized companies. October’s job growth is the highest since June and the second highest gain of 2014.”
